Salat Al-jumuʿah – Friday Service

The Friday ‘Jumuʿah‘ prayer service offered by the Islamic Society of Spartanburg is a congregational prayer that takes place every Friday starting at 1:40 pm. This service is an important part of Muslim religious observance and is mandatory for all able-bodied adult Muslims. The service begins with a khutbah (sermon), delivered by an Imam or other religious leader, followed by a group prayer consisting of two units (rak’ah) of prayer. The Jumuʿah salat provides an opportunity for Muslims to come together to worship and to hear a message of guidance and inspiration. It is also an important occasion for community building and socializing, where Muslims can connect with each other and strengthen their bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood. Refreshments are offered after salat.

Kahoot! Islamic Trivia

Join us twice, on the second and last Saturday of each month, at the Islamic Society of Spartanburg for our popular Community Potluck & Islamic Trivia Nights! These engaging evenings combine delicious halal food with interactive Kahoot! quizzes focused on Islamic knowledge. Each session features a different theme, from Stories of the Prophets to Acts of Worship, making learning fun and accessible for all ages. Families gather after Maghrib prayer to share meals, strengthen community bonds, and compete for prizes while expanding their understanding of Islam. Bring a dish to share and your smartphone to join the fun – where good food meets meaningful learning in a warm, family-friendly environment.
